SACSSA National Athletics – 29-30 September 2023
More than 1000 Christian School Athletes, from as far as Western Province, Zimbabwe, and Namibia, competed over two days (29-30 September) at the SACSSA (Southern African Christian School’s Sports Association) National Athletics Championships, held at the Msunduzi Stadium in Pietermaritzburg. A team of learners from JWS represented the KZNCSSA Team, they were Alwande Hlengwa, Angel Machadu, Buhlebandile Gwala, Zekhethelo Phakathi, and Ayabonga Mbhele.
Zekhethelo Phakati received three medals at the event, she achieved 2nd place in the U12, 100m, and 150m races and 1st place in the Mixed U12 Relay race for Team KZN.
Zekhethelo Phakathi and Angel Machadu both received their SACSSA Colours for Cross Country after competing in the National event which took place on the 29th of July 2023.
