Preparing for a better future for your child

    By Lilian Corden-Lloyd | News | Comments are Closed | 9 March, 2023 | 0

God instructs us to place value on teaching children to know and love Him. Moments of discipline offer the opportunity to teach a child that God disciplines us because He loves us and that, as parents, we do the same for our children. We encourage parents to give their children the very best possible start in life, by choosing a school that cares about their academic, emotional, spiritual, and physical growth.

John Wesley School, also fondly referred to as JWS, is an affordable Methodist Church Mission School offering Pre-primary care from the age of two years and a Primary school from Grade 1 to Grade 7.

Our Foundation Phase optimises school readiness and gives our youngest learners the best possible start to their academic careers by developing their foundational skills and instilling in them self-confidence, a sense of belonging, and a love for learning.

JWS offers smaller classes, dedicated specialist educators, a Grade 1 Bridging Class and an LSEN Class for learners with Special Education Needs.

The JWS management and teachers work closely with parents and guardians to ensure that their children reach their full potential. Learner support meetings are held regularly to ensure the very best attention is given to learners who may require additional developmental support during their academic careers.

Sports and extramural activities include swimming from Grade R, soccer, athletics, cross-country, and netball. We have extra English, maths, computer and homework clubs as well as cultural activities, including choir and chess. The school also offers Aftercare with supervised homework at an additional charge until 5:30 pm.

CAN I MAKE A DONATION TO THE SCHOOL?

Donations towards the John Wesley School Bursary Fund are welcome and essential to our mission. As a registered NPO and NGO, the school can issue a Section 18A Receipt for tax deduction purposes. Please send an email to our Principal,
